March 10th Reminder of Our Constitutional Rights | From A Patriot

Monday, March 9th, 2009

In support of our 10th Amendment mass reminder to Washington D.C., the letter below was submitted by a supporter concerned over the destruction of our Constitution and the preservation of our freedoms.  Today, March 10th, send your representatives a reminder and share your voice by leaving a comment below.

Dear ____________,

I wanted to let you know that I have cast a ballot for you in past elections.  I was not happy when you voted for the $700 billion bailout because I believe that the Federal government has no role in managing the economy.  I am afraid that I may need to seek to place my support elsewhere in upcoming elections.

This is a friendly reminder that I still believe in the 10th Amendment. Please represent me.

For too long, the Federal government has taken upon itself powers that are not expressly granted in the Constitution.  These powers are to be reserved to the states and individuals.  Examples of these powers that are not granted are the passage of all of the economic recovery and bailout laws.  These are not powers that are expressly granted to the Federal government and the government has no place in “managing” the national economy.  “Central Planning” was not and is not a valid duty of government.

March 10th | Send Your Representatives a Friendly Reminder

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Thomas Jefferson described the Tenth Amendment as “the foundation of the Constitution” and added, “to take a single step beyond  the boundaries thus specially drawn … is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition.”

Our token leaders continue to redefine and expand their unconstitutional bounds of power.  We cannot be a “Nation of Laws” if the supreme law, the Constitution, is ignored.  In  honor of the 10th Amendment, we Americans can send our representatives in every level of government a simple reminder on March 10th by sending the following e-mail:

Dear Representative [NAME]

This is a friendly reminder that I still believe in the 10th Amendment. Please represent me.

Thank you,
[NAME]

Or, if you have really had ENOUGH, personalize your message.

Keen on Setting Brush Fires

Monday, March 9th, 2009

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds. - Samuel Adams

As one of the Founding Fathers and architects of the American republic, Samuel Adams argued that the people must resist encroachment on their constitutional rights, and spent a life observing that principle .  As for the Boston Tea Party, historians debate whether or not he helped plan the event. What is known however, is that Adams worked hard to publicize and defend the Tea Party as a principled protest.

Hundreds of people have asked how to get involved and make the Tea Party movement a success and reach out to those who are not active, but hold a mutual desire to get the government off of our backs and out of our pockets. This great advice and direction comes from a post by Cara C. We recommend that all persons interested in organizing and informing themselves about Tea Parties visit the forums, to help turn online enthusiasm into a visible offline statement:
