March 10th | Send Your Representatives a Friendly Reminder

Thomas Jefferson described the Tenth Amendment as “the foundation of the Constitution” and added, “to take a single step beyond  the boundaries thus specially drawn … is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition.”

Our token leaders continue to redefine and expand their unconstitutional bounds of power.  We cannot be a “Nation of Laws” if the supreme law, the Constitution, is ignored.  In  honor of the 10th Amendment, we Americans can send our representatives in every level of government a simple reminder on March 10th by sending the following e-mail:

This is a friendly reminder that I still believe in the 10th Amendment. Please represent me.

    Does anyone know why our congress and President continue to press forward while the majority of American citizens are in complete opposition to the current scale of government action?
    Either they are so blind and believe what they are doing is right, or they simply do not care.
    Our country is being socialized without the consent of the people.

    One answer to why the President and Congress press ahead when the people are opposed:

    It’s the media folks! The people are MISinformed and uninformed by the likes of NBC, etc. It is both amazing and a blessing that Rick Santelli has been allowed to say what he has. The General Electric execs (who control NBC) must be avowed liberals to put Oberman, Matthews and Maddow on at prime-time, and then KEEP them there even when their ratings are in the tank. They apparently view this as their response to the success of Fox News.

    Yes, let’s do websites and anything else that will help. But I think we need to tackle the major networks head-on, too. I am NOT embarrased by Rush Limbaugh… he is telling it like it is. All we need is the courage to say so. Let’s ask him to be involved with the tea party. He can reach the masses needed.

    I called a dozen of my State representatives yesterday about the 10th Amendment issue. THIS IS THE SOLUTION TO WHAT’S GOING ON.

    I also plan to send a letter to my Governor today reminding her of her duty to protect the citizens of our state and that includes protecting us from the overreach of the Federal Government.

    We need 37 States (a 2/3 majority) to tell the Feds to “cease and desist” and, if necessary, to tell the Feds that the Constitution is null and void. At that time, we would kick every elected representative out, hold special elections and start over.

    We have our State Governments to protect the structure and we could do this.

People of this Great Country, I am so disappointed with the way this Country has been lead astray from our principles and our founding fathers visions!, So me and my brother are starting the north east tennessee tea party because like Rick, We are PISSED!,But unfortunately the opposition is far greater than we expected! our site has been up for 3 days and we have had encounters with hijackers and hackers, Which probably work in the democratic party, So we have got to get this movement going forward with more determination and vigor!, and thanks Rick! Finally a true American in media standing up and telling it like it is! Me or my brother will not be deterred or sit back no more! I urge everyone to please get the word out! We have even made flyers and been putting them up where ever we can, but so far no one has joined to stand with us, this amazes us! IT`S TIME TO MAKE A STAND!! Thankfully we know at least their is 6000 of us that believe we can make the CHANGE WE BELIEVE IN! GOD BLESS ALL OF US & THIS GREAT COUNTRY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

    Fortunately, my Congressional Rep is excellent. But I live in Virginia and I not only suffer with 2 Democratic Senators, but a Dem as a Governor. And to add salt to the wound, Governor Kaine is the Chairman of the DNC.

    Don’t ethics apply here? Doesn’t that conflict beg to be examined here? How can Kaine “govern” our Commonwealth of Virginia when he has a very obvious agenda with the Democratic Party and its overall mission.

    About Obama:
    The majority of voters are poorly informed and they are uninformed about current events. Mainstream media has even proved that there is blatant bias for Nobama, so the majority of people plugged into those stations will continue to hear the rah-rah propaganda.

    The stock market, however, is not lying. Too bad that Nobama is already dodging those challenges. Even yesterday he claimed that he never looked at “the Market”. How insipid…..HE HAS ADVISORS. DUH.

    Nobama also clearly said, “We need earmark reform and when I’m president, I will go line by line to make sure we’re not spending money unwisely,”

    Now when will he get around to that line-by-line promise of his? And what about all of that “transparency”?

    The plain truth is that Nobama is dishonest and is a liar to our Nation.

    Nobama appears “intoxicated” because it is part of his internal rapture within himself. He fuels emotionality because Nobama is a blatant narcissist. So was Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, and other evil-doers.

    Nobama’s past associations align him squarely within a circle of radical conformists, quasi-communists. We are now starting to see his radical agenda. By the time the Nobama-voters realize that our Nation is not only failing but is socialized, it will probably be too late.

    Like Limbaugh says, I HOPE HE FAILS.

    I think it would be more cutting-edge, more broad and more inclusive if we send out letters about the 9th amendment instead. People look at the 10th amendment with disdain outside our party, and outside our ranks. But the 9th amendment is more important and more all-inclusive. If we start there, it’s harder to have people argue against us from the left.

    I live in the once great state of Iowa. We now have a Democratic house, senate and governor. They have found that all they have to do is think of something to make a law and it happens. They are now considering not only no cel-phones while driving, but no drinking, no eating, no smoking and they tried to get no talking to the people in the bac seat. They say all of these are a distraction.
    We have lived here 70 years but we are now thinking of moving. We can no longer agree with what is happening with our rights. It will not be long before they will tell you when to get up, when to go to bed and whether you can sleep together as man and wife. I hope God saves the country for the Democrats certainly will not.

    I live in CO and we had a man persistently work to get an amendment through our statehouse that says CO can NOT raise taxes unless the people pass it in a general election. Check out CO property taxes compared to what YOU pay. If you want to see Legislators CRY, suggest an amendment like this in YOUR state!

    It is simple: Complete and utter arrogance. These people see themselves as the cream of the crop, the elite. They see themselves as smarter, more enlightened than the rest of us hapless fools in the hinterland. It is also about power and position- Absolute power corrupts absolutely and we are certainly seeing the corruption and degradation within the hallowed halls of government.

    I forsee that they will one day soon, unless we stand up right now, they will stamp out all opposition with great prejudice. As Edmund Burke stated: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

    It’s time to stand up and be counted, now! Before it’s too late.

    About our current “leaders”:
    One of the great scriptures (I believe in Jeremiah) keeps coming to mind and that’s one that states that “…the heart is deceitful and wicked, who can know it?” Almighty God knows our hearts - even better than ourselves!

    I wonder what would happen if we (the ones who pay taxes) all decided to skip a mortgage payment or not file taxes? Could we bring the house of cards down (would we want to?). If there is anybody who has not read Ayn Rand ‘Atlas Shrugged’, do it now - the madness would all make sense. Further, read ‘We the Living’ and you’ll know where we are really headed if this is not stopped.

    It’s more than our children’s piggy banks at stake here, I think our country is on the verge of a collapse! I fear that one day they’ll show up for me just because of the websites I visit, and I believe that everything from rioting to food shortages might be headed our way. Am I an alarmist, oh, please tell me it’s so, but I fear that I am right.

    I tell you one thing, I made a decision that if America goes down I go down with her. I will NOT pull my money out of my IRA - that’s what they want us to do - I will NOT stop working, I will NOT take government handouts, and I am NOT going to take this lying down - they will have to pry my freedom from my dead, cold, CAPITALIST hands. We can fix this country if they (government) would just get out of our way and let us work our way back to prosperity.

    I don’t think that’s what they want - the government wants to live like kings, ensuring the votes from the welfare state and have the CAPITALISTS work their fingers to the bone to sustain it all. The problem is I think they are about to drive the bus right off the cliff! As Michele Bachmann was ridiculed for saying, we’re running out of rich folks. I think we’re running out of middle class, too - or we will after all the REAL tax increases get rolled out.

  23. I have to admit that I first thought that the 10th amendment wasn’t truly relavant to our cause, but realized that it highlights the abuses of governments. What the founding fathers clearly intended with the 10th amendment was that any law going forward could not give more powers to the Federal government, which was violated by the 16th and 18th amendments as well as most laws going through legislation every year. We should all participate on March 10th.

    When I was in my late teens or early 20’s, I watched the movie “Dr. Zhivago”. (For those of you who haven’t seen it, you might want to check it out.) Anyway, I sat there watching this movie and kept saying to myself, “Don’t they see what they’re doing?!? They are giving up their freedoms to their government!” What happened to Russia in 1917 appears to be happening to the U.S.A. We must stop it now!

I think there are a lot of americans who are upset and disturbed about what is going on in this country. The way I see it is this- we have a government that refuses to protect our borders because they the government have decided that they are more interested in getting new illegal voters than actually protecting the citizens who hired them. follow that by a governmet that that is complete drunk with power and spending trillions of dollars that is not theirs to spend, it is our money and it is money that has yet to even be created. I believe John Mccain referred to it as generational theft. america wake up.     Basically, I think people are pissed that California and New York have so much influence on the Union. What makes me sick is that people have let foreign nations conive them into thinking that the electorate system, which allows presidents to win an election without a majority overall, is a bad idea. Screw you!     I wanted to let you know that I have cast a ballot for you in past elections. I was not happy when you voted for the $700 billion bailout because I believe that the Federal government has no role in managing the economy.     This is a friendly reminder that I still believe in the 10th Amendment. Please represent me.

    For too long, the Federal government has taken upon itself powers that are not expressly granted in the Constitution. These powers are to be reserved to the states and individuals. Examples of these powers that are not granted are the passage of all of the economic recovery and bailout laws. These are not powers that are expressly granted to the Federal government and the government has no place in “managing” the national economy. “Central Planning” was not and is not a valid duty of government.

    The proper duty of a government is to maintain a society free from aggression, a society in which no human being can can threaten by use of force to take away the liberty or pursuit of freedom and happiness of any other individual. Government all-to-often uses threat of force through excessive taxation and inflationary fiscal and monetary policies in order to take from one and to give to another. In doing so, it is no longer the referee of a free society, insuring its citizens their personal liberty and freedom. It becomes a forceful advocate for some to the detriment of others. This is morally wrong and is unacceptable in any instance.

    i believe in the 10th ammendment; please represent me. i didn’t vote for socialism or communism. please represent me. i’m a college grad. i’m a registered democrat. i voted for the president. i’ve read our founding documents. congress is acting tyrannical…has been for some time. stop spending money on things we don’t have on things we don’t need. this stimulus package is a sham. it’s only logical end is to put the majority of the nation’s citizens in government shackles…dependent on the government for their way of life…thus the votes purchased for future shackles. stop this. please represent me. please open a forum for discussion on this specific topic.

  34. If President Obama doesn’t veto this omnibus spending bill, I will lose a lot of respect for him. I know that he’s eager to get the ball rolling and get something done, but I feel the country would rather take it’s time and get it done right than rush it. He should keep his promise and work for the people not for congress. He asked them to do something for us, they didn’t do it right, so call them out on it, embarass them in the public eye and hold them accountable. That’s his job as President and he’s clearly not doing it if he signs the spending bill.

    I did not vote for Obama, but felt after being defeated, he was either going to be THEE Best President we’ve ever had, or THEE Worst…. I too believe in the 10th Ammendment. Why is he not doing his job? All u Americans out there wake up, this is what high officials do, when they run for the presidency they blow smoke down your throat, you believe them, vote for them,usually stand behind them, until something like this happens, now what? That to secure these rights our government was instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Not the reverse, which is now largely the case and in fact the primary impetus for this declaration. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the People including each sovereign Individual to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness as defined by absolute goodness in the eyes of their Creator. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses, usurpations and refusals to respond to Petitions for Redress of grievances these violations of the Constitution evinces a conspiracy to transition our Constitutional Republic to a pure democracy, and to strip us of our Liberties and reduce us to serfdom under absolute despotism, it is the right of the People to alter the Government, pro-actively, non-violently with critical mass and to provide new guards for their future security.

    Such is once again the patient sufferance of these 50 States; but especially to the People, more so each sovereign Individual, who reside legally within them, and such is now the necessity, which constrains them to alter their present system of government. Specifically the federal government The history of the present federal government is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states by attempting to usurp sovereignty and incorporate them first under The North American Union and eventually under a one-world fascist/socialist government it refers to as the New World Order. The federal government is subservient to the States and all government is subservient to We the People. The federal government has infringed on OUR RIGHTS and has committed many usurpations of power against the States and We the People. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

    The offenses presented comprise but a fraction of all egregious offenses upon the People to be exacted but remain beyond sufficient to weight the need for the recreation of these united states of America in full allegiance with the original intent of it’s inception under the Constitution.

    WHEREAS, Through actions such as the so-called Civil War (it was really The War Between the States) when the rightful states of each American republic were subverted by force and the operations of law that were established by the insidious 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution & the Act of 1871 prior to but especially since 1913 with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act by the federal government whereby a consortium of international bankers in the form of a private banking cartel took control of the issuance of American currency and the regulation of the value thereof, the federal government has refused its assent to the principals and the laws within the original united states Constitution, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. A direct consequence of these actions of a privately owned central bank, the abandonment of the gold standard and a debt-based fiat dollar has resulted in economic catastrophe.

    WHEREAS, The 10th Amendment in the Constitution of the united states writ here “The powers not delegated to the united states by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” defines the total scope of federal power as being that specifically granted by the united states Constitution and no more; The federal government has steadily and stealthily to the notice for too long of many the people of these great States sought to usurp the power of the people at the behest of international bankers in order to form a New World Order in defiance of the Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness of the People.

    WHEREAS It has invaded foreign lands (inaccurately yet commonly referred to as wars) without a declaration of war by Congress as per the supreme law of the land. - Nations unconstitutionally invaded in partnership often with other nations include, endless armed Middle East conflicts, Korea Vietnam Iraq (Desert Storm) Afghanistan, Panama, Grenada, and Iraq again in 2003 to the present day.

    As well the federal government has waged a war on terrorism, which is a futile engagement as the stated objective is one that can never be won through efforts of war, causing it a nature of perpetual existence to burden the people.

    WHEREAS, in direct defiance and betrayal of the principals expressed in Amendment IV writ here The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Deprivations of privacy and an emerging police state via the “USA Patriot Act” has resulted

    WHEREAS, despite the fact that the 16th Amendment was never ratified by all 48 States at the time of it’s supposed inception and as it is an un-apportioned tax the federal government under the guise of the internal revenue service has unconstitutionally imposed direct taxes on American labor from wages and salaries further placing a burden of existence on the people and contributing to the present economic catastrophe.

    WHEREAS, In direct defiance of the principals expressed in Amendment II writ here A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. The federal government has resolved and presently campaigns to place infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; of the People.

    WHEREAS, The current administration has resolved to require involuntary servitude, or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

    WHEREAS, At present we are subject upon the failure of Congress to defend the Constitution, a president who refuses to produce evidence establishing his status as a natural born Citizen as required by the Constitution.

    Among these and many other crucial offenses and acts of high treason, here listed in less detail include NAFTA, The NAU, the Fed/Treasury bailouts, The Stimulus Package (so called) uncontrolled borders & immigration, and electronic voting – proven to be subject to fraud.

    In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. Numerous resolutions having been presented to the Federal government by many State General Assemblies without response or result from Congress or the federal government. And the most grievous injury: A servant government that refuses, at every turn, to be held accountable – in any way - by failing to respond to the People’s repeated First Amendment Petitions for Redress of Grievances.

    As James Madison said in the Federalist Papers, No. 45, “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.”
    As American Patriots in full agreement with all the principals and law defined in the organic Constitution and in good conscience many having sworn oaths to defend the Constitution We cannot allow the federal government legally defined as THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (corporation) and it’s Judicial appointees to continue to usurp state sovereignty for then we too, by virtue of complicity will be guilty of treason.

    We, therefore, the citizens of the reunited states of America, in a 2nd General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these States, solemnly publish and declare, that these united states are, and of right ought to continue to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the federal government, and that all political connection between them and the federal government an entity separated from the states by virtue of the Act of 1871, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do, including the right to arrest and hold to trial by jury to establish guilt of all members of the federal government. Further recreate a new federal government per the Constitution. Replace through fair elections all members no longer available to serve the people by virtue of their imprisonment due to the discovery of acts of treason, including the presidency.   38. It's no surprise that they (with a very few exceptions) no longer represent us. Our government was incorporated right after the Civil War, and it went into receivership in 1933. Most of these so called “representatives” are nothing more than corporate raiders who have been selling off the assets of the bankrupt corporation to foreign interests ever since.
