San Diego Meetup Group Organizational Meeting

In cities all over the country, groups, organizations, and individuals are taking the initiative to organize Tea Party activities. With the success of unaffiliated Tea Parties growing, the San Diego Meetup group had an “organizers meeting” in Balboa Park so that leaders across the city could meet each other, share information, and better coordinate activities with each other. About 150 people came out for the event and enjoyed a full barbecue, a live band, and most importantly, exchanged phone numbers, ideas, and awareness of each others’ activities.

The various organizers in San Diego hope to raise a collective awareness of everyone’s individual progress, with a determination to bring all the groups together on July 4th, 2009, to put on a grand display of protest that cannot be ignored by the media. One organizer is beginning plans for a parade permit. Another is looking into getting fireworks. Others are working on getting a big ship and boxes to re-enact the original Boston Tea Party, starting community outreach programs, and a media relations department. The event was in a wonderful display of cooperation. Working together, individuals can educate and inform our communities of our American constitutional principles, the foundation of our unrest, and our determination to reclaim our Country for We the People.
