Don’t Mess with Texas
Gov. Rick Perry (R), who could face a tough challenge from Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R) in 2010, endorses a state resolution affirming Texas sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. “I’m here today to offer my unwavering support to…millions of Texans just like yourself that are tired of Washington, D.C. trying to come down here and tell us how to run Texas.”

Fine. Please return all border guards, fencing etc. you aren't paying for ASAP. Oh also any Medicare and Education funding in excess of your own tax base. Darnit, didn't the Civil War settle the issue of state's rights once and for all? You're either with us or against us, as a Texan once said.

The Civil War 'settled' the issue by the racist tyrant Abe Lincoln provoking a conflict that killed 600,000 Americans.
Medicare and the Dept. of Education should be abolished, along with the other ~ 90% of the entire federal bureaucracy which is blatantly unconstitutional.

Greg,
The Civil War did not settle this. It settled that states could not unilaterally leave the Union; however, it did not nullify the 10th Amendment to the Constitution. If you don't agree with the Constitution or its Amendments, then you need to work to get it amended through the political process. What has happened is that politicians have simply ignored that it exists. The time has come where there are enough Americans willing to stand up and say that the Federal Government has trampled the foundations of the Constitution and it must stop. I am sorry if this upsets you. As for returning funding that did not come from Texas citizens, great. Let's do that. And let's have every other state return the funding that didn't come from its citizens. If we did that, then we would not be in hock to the Chinese Communists and the Fed would also stop printing money. The bailouts would stop, and the government would shrink to half its current size. This would be one of the greatest things for Freedom and Liberty in the history of our nation.
Take care.

Be careful with Gov. Perry; he went to the globalist Bilderberg Group meeting several years ago. And of course, Sen. Hutchison is a sell-out who voted for TARP.
Instead of those two, support Debra Medina for Texas governor in 2010. She's a Ron Paul supporter and fan of the Ludwig von Mises Institute.

Gregg…how do you think medicare and education are paid for in the first place. The money comes from the states, half of it is lost in Washington to corruption and bureaucracy, then half of it is returned forcing doctors and teachers to practice the way Washington tells them too.

Warn your neighbors and show how many are united against tyranny by honking your horn while driving today. Then drive through the neighborhoods for a half an hour honking.
Long live liberty!

The Constitution is a wonderful work. Unfortunately, it’s been manipulated by people hungry for power to the point that it’s nothing more than a document that used to mean something. People must stand up for their own rights. The Founding Fathers knew that, but they only started the fight. It’s up to us to continue it in our generation.
