Keen on Setting Brush Fires

Monday, March 9th, 2009

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds. - Samuel Adams

As one of the Founding Fathers and architects of the American republic, Samuel Adams argued that the people must resist encroachment on their constitutional rights, and spent a life observing that principle .  As for the Boston Tea Party, historians debate whether or not he helped plan the event. What is known however, is that Adams worked hard to publicize and defend the Tea Party as a principled protest.

Hundreds of people have asked how to get involved and make the Tea Party movement a success and reach out to those who are not active, but hold a mutual desire to get the government off of our backs and out of our pockets. This great advice and direction comes from a post by Cara C. We recommend that all persons interested in organizing and informing themselves about Tea Parties visit the forums, to help turn online enthusiasm into a visible offline statement:

Rally Call from California

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Posted in our Forum, carriemacnz let’s out a rally call to all Californians. Post your rally call and use the forum to summon troops in your area!

Californians are hurting like no where else, and INFURIATED with both the state, and federal governments. AND California is the perfect example of all that is coming to the entire country.

WHY?….Because the state has been on a SPENDING spree with a socialist agenda for a VERY LONG time! The state finances countless people like Octo-Mom, illegal aliens, and addicts that jam the hospitals, overrun the public schools and perpetuate crime, all with state and federal taxes. Currently there is 10.1% unemployment, 10% sales tax, and MORE taxes are promised to follow. Now, the state intends to save money by releasing murders and pedophiles from jail into the streets, and refusing to detain known, criminal illegal aliens. All of this “after” getting big bail out bucks from the federal government!

With momentum building allover the country, the San Diego Tea Party Meetup Group is taking steps necessary to make sure that this movement is a success.  Check out their next meeting agenda to get some ideas on how groups are utilizing different social networks to coordinate and communicate with other patriotic supporters in their local area on a more personal level.  Please contact us at ReTeaParty.com or any Tea Party MeetUp organizers around the country for advice or more information.

March 21st Tea Party Organizational Meet-Up
Balboa Park (Right Next To Founder’s Plaza at El Prado and 6th Ave.)
Saturday, March 21st, 12:30pm

Who We Are: We are concerned citizens just like everyone else that have had enough of government waste, corruption, and intrusion into our daily lives. We are non-partisan, directing our angst not at a particular party or person, but at the collective failures of our entire congress to follow and uphold the Constitution. We are devoted to making a difference and get our elected representatives to listen to our voice.

Take OUR Country Back!

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

In response to a recent blog, Joe F. unleashes some wisdom on the political elite and the need for us as Americans to take our country back. Give us your take on the mess, as we will continue to feature your submissions:

The country is in such a mess simply because those gangsters in the political class in DC led by the gangsters in New York and those running the Federal Reserve (one and the same) decided long ago to totally and completely disregard our Constitution. So, the question becomes one of: are we a nation of law or not? Do we have a legitimate government (based on the founding father’s Principles as outlined in the Constitution) or not?

I am 72 years old and I have been reading newspapers since I was 13 years old (June 25th, the day the Korean war broke out). I have seen a lot in my time. And one observation I have made over the years, especially in the past 25-30 years, is that no matter what party is in power, nothing changes. Things get worse. The reason for this is simple. The educated gangsters who have been running this country for the past quarter century or so have almost completely disregarded the Constitution. They have decided that what our founding fathers put together is no longer applicable, and so they have gone their own way, with their own agenda, for their own purposes. The question now is: what do the American people do about this? (more…)

Extremism in the Defense of Liberty

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

In a recent post, supporters were asked to submit the reasons why they are MAD, and to give us their solutions to the problems we face today.  Give us your take on the situation, as we will continue to feature your ideas:

Where does one begin? I say with natural rights! I have a right to life, liberty and property! These are individual rights that we are born with (maybe even the unborn), they are non-negotiable, self-evident, and cannot be trampled on with the “justification” that the end justifies the means. They are negative rights, they cannot be provided, they exist as long as man exists. Collectivists believe our income is society’s income, and that everyone has an equal right to his share of income…they have the right to enslave us. Ergo, our right to private property is now a “collective right,” the State decides how we shall choose to use our property, what and how much we can speak, and what we can and cannot do: we are subjects of the State.

Thus, our income is taxed, i.e. stolen, from us, corporations are subsidized with our stolen money, failure is rewarded via stolen money…our rights are manipulated…the Constitution is no longer applicable…a slipper slope to unlimited government, indeed. (more…)

A Reason for Optimism

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Within two days of launching this site, thousands of patriots poured out their frustrations, concerns, passion, and hearts. We are still getting through the responses. From these e-mails, one thing is certain: the cause of freedom is filled with hard-working, wise, and articulate men and women who understand the problems we face as a country today much more than the government gives us credit. With her permission, Patty has agreed to share her letter:

Mr. Santelli,

Thank you for telling it like it is in the real world. The world where schedules are insane. Where parents volunteer COUNTLESS HOURS at their parochial school to teach Art and Coach sports teams because the public schools that our tax dollars are paying for absolutely stink. The world where hard work has meant a comfortable house and providing for our children. The world where we EARN the money we make with late nights and stress and discomfort and frustration and we suck it up because it is the right thing to do. And, because it helps to teach our children that hard work pays off. And, because it is what we CHOOSE to do.

Yes, I will mail tea bags to the White House.

Yes, I would like to participate in a Tea Party.

When 3 women - 2 in their 40s and successfully self-employed, and 1 in her mid-60s have a lunch on 2/18/09 that turns into a rant about politics - specifically the fact that we are no longer a country where we are represented and we are no longer working toward capitalistic goals - you know there is something askew. This is a true story. Over a lunch last week I sat with 2 women shaking our heads collectively and agreeing to keep in touch on what we CAN do to put control back into the hands of the PEOPLE and help return this to a REPRESENTATIVE democracy, not a Socialist Dictatorship.

YES - Mr. Santelli - PLEASE go to Washington. Tell Mr. Gibbs where he can firmly place the document he so arrogantly suggested you didn’t read. While you’re there, please remind Mr. Obama that he lives in AMERICA - the land of the free. And the home of the outspoken.

Then, get back on TV and keep waking up the sleeping giant, silent majority who - if they keep silent - run the risk of losing more than a few tax dollars.

Until this past fall and winter I had never contacted my senator or congressman about anything. I have emailed anyone and everyone i could find in the past few weeks begging them to represent me and vote NO on any other bailout program.

Do we need a Tea Party? Hell yes.

I’ve been saying that we need one since the first bailout last fall. But, I am only one woman. Thankfully Rick Santelli has stamina, chutzpah, and integrity to stand up and speak his mind that reflects so many of us in the trenches too busy to do anything because we are working hard and parenting our children.

Yes. We want our free, capitalist country back - complete with its flaws and failures and imperfections. ANYTHING is better than another bandaid.
