Santelli responds to Obama “I think I prefer tea.”
Press secretary Robert Gibbs commented on Rick Santelli’s Chicago Teaparty today as covered in the following article by The Washington Post. Santelli was there to respond:
Santelli, appearing on CNBC today quickly after Gibbs’ comments, appeared to be enjoying the attention.
“This is exactly what we want. They are making things clear,” Santelli — who was hardly a household name 48 hours ago — said. “If you listen to the clip yesterday, we never referred to any specifics. It was the notion of not going down the road subsidizing other people’s
mortgages. I think its terrific that this has been opened up to national debate.”He added: “I think its wonderful that he invited me to the White House. I’m not really big on decaf though. I think I prefer tea.”

Jean, I think you got us mixed up with someone else. This group that is against Obama is also the same group that was against Bush. We are against big government and stealing taxpayers money for pet projects and special interests. We don’t care if you are red or blue, but we want things to change and to take power away from the corrupt and give it back to the people!

I get a headache every time some freeloader and/or Liberal tells me what I should do with the money I earned.
I could see calling me greedy if I just found it on the street one day, but I grind away at my job day in and day out.
Do you have a job Jean? How much of YOUR money are you giving to your neighbor?

Way to go Rick! Like you said, “Cuba used to have mansions (when there was free markets), now they have 1954 automobiles.” Now Cubans risk their life to get off that island.
We didn’t go from an upstart nation to the most powerful economic force of all time in 200 years because of socialism or our vast natural resources. Many a country had the same opportunities that we had. We became prosperous because we had a better system. Capitalism Works and creates prosperity, Socialism Fails and creates dependence.

Hey, Rick, have you ever heard of the FairTax? Have you read Neal Boortz and Rep. John Linder’s FairTax Book? You would be an excellent person to promote it! If you have any questions, please talk to Gov. Mike Huckabee! Thanks for starting the Re-Tea Party Revolution!

You go, Rick!! The founders would be proud.
Remember when Obama said he would welcome other ideas about fixing the economy?? Well, many thousands suggested the FairTax. Obama is either deaf, dumb, or blind because our suggestion has been ignored.
The FairTax is the most researched proposal before Congress. Instead of taking the advice of some of the best and brightest economists in the land, we’re traveling down the failed road of socialism.
If you want to increase spending, let us keep more of our money! If you want to increase production, make the environment business friendly by lowering taxes on businesses! If you want to really stimulate the economy, do both - which the FairTax does!

Rick expressed an attitude of many hard working cautious Americans.
There were many opportunities to plunge into the madness that enveloped consumers and speculators - the madness that “bet” on rising home prices would cover the homeowners debt. Huh? Who in their right mind could believe in that?
As a friend expressed to me in 2006: “I don’t know Rich, people are upside down in their mortgages now.”
Consumer greed. . . and now us careful homeowners are expected to cover the bets of greedy homeowners.
Right on Rick! You hit the nail on the head.

Santelli ROCKS. Jean does have a point though - there is a guy in the press preaching class warfare and dividing this country - HIS NAME IS OBAMA and he is one of the worst things to ever happen to this country! But we should not be suprized - it has been constant and now predictable behavior by a white house which is absolutely out of control and attacksy anyone that dare disagree with it’s Mesiah. Just ask Joe the plumber - IF you dare to speak your mind against this idiot then you are attacked. HE RAN A CAMPAIGN BASED ON FEAR and he is giverning the same way. THANK GOD FOR RICK SANTELLI ! And Oh by the way Jean - destroying wall stree is the quickest way to destroy the middle class - and that falls squarely on your mesiah and his deciples

If they scream in DC when they hear someone wil dump some tea or send some teabags… (And I LOVE the idea of “tea-bagging” as a punishment.)…
…What will they do when someone calls for an open tax revolt?
It’s our money. We work to earn it. We don’t have to give it to you. We can take our toys and go home. Does Obama, our “Dear Leader Most Wise and Merciful” have the stones to send police and troops to extract the money by force?
Maybe…
But, are they ready for that?

When you change to a consumption tax and eliminate the income tax, everybody pays taxes. The money hidden in the banks in the Cayman Islands and the underground economy all comes home, because it doesn’t need to hide any more. This will stimulate the economy like nothing else will. Explore the benefits of the FairTax and you will see how this works.

Jean Hincks, bless your heart, do you really believe that the home loan problem was caused by Reaganomics?? You poor thing, all that kool-aid swigging has really taken its toll! For the sake of Jean and the rest of the Obamites, we need to repeat often and wherever possible the truth about how this economic debacle began: Jimmy Carter, through his Community Reinvestment Act, required that a certain percentage of home mortgages be made to people who didn’t have the good credit or ability to repay that is normally required of home buyers. Bill Clinton expanded that lending law so that a much larger percentage of “questionable” loans were required to be made by mortgage lenders. The B loan market total soared from $34 billion in 1994 to $1 trillion in 2008. When Bush tried twice to change the rules to prevent the disaster that has followed, Congress voted him down. Barney Frank and his Democrat buddies ignored all the predictable and obvious signs of impending disaster and stated that all was well at FNMA. This problem was created by Democrats, fed, grown and perpetuated by Democrats and denied by Democrats until it crashed on us all.
And now Obama, and the Democratic Congress, is throwing good money (or pretend money) after bad. So, the only question is: are Dems really this incompetent when it comes to economics, or is there something much bigger and more disasterous and unpatriotic in the works?
Yes, it’s time for a tea party! Let’s hope it’s not too late! Rick, I’m so glad you stood up and spoke for all of us who recognize the mistakes that are being made in DC!
