Repeal the Sixteenth Amendment Now Avatar

Admins

Description

We believe that the Sixteenth Amendment needs to be repealed through a limited Constitutional Convention. We also believe that Art 1 Sec 8 of the constitution needs to be amended to take away the power of Congress to lay and collect taxes from the people. We will do this through means of petitions on the legislatures of the states. We will coordinate this effort in all 50 states because we believe the strength and power of Congress is the ability to tax the people and spend our money. If we can eliminate this constitutional authority afforded to congress and the federal government we can take our
country back and eliminate the abuses of the legislative and executive branches. Taxation must be limited to the states. The power to tax is the power to rule.

News

We have just prepared a petition for signatures and delivery to the state legislatures and representatives. It is in a pdf format and available upon request.
We can also fax or mail forms to all those who want to be involved in this project to take back the country and eliminate Congressional power and abuse.

  • Hello All:

    A few days ago in the comment thread for the Vote-No-Confidence Group, there was a debate about tolerating politicians who breached the public trust/ ethos by for example having affairs, conflicts of interest etc. I have wrote a lengthy responsive argument regarding this topic.
    I would appreciate it if you visit my response here:
    http://twurl.cc/177k — Examiner.com
    and here:
    http://bit.ly/vkwV1 — NowPublic.com (liberal strong hold)

    Here is the teaser -

    TO THE DEBATE - TOLERANCE OF BREACHES OF THE PUBLIC TRUST (in elected officials and Government Bureaucrats)

    The topic of this debate revolves around tolerance and intolerance of moral, ethical, legal and political trespasses by elected officials. In this story, I may sometimes refer to these collectively as ”ethos* Further, I may refer to breaches of any one of these aspects of American ethos as Breaches of the Public Trust. Broadly the four major perspectives on this issue are:

    1) Biblical Mandate - That we must permit/practice tolerance, because politicians have the same failings of average people (Let ye without sin cast the first stone);

    2) Political Reality - That politics attracts a certain element of society with a propensity to, for lack of a more secular and less offensive term, sin;

    3) Political Loyalty/alliance/allegiance/expediency - Some of these folks that ”sin” share our same political beliefs and/or party and therefore we should overlook their trespasses to achieve our political goals;

    4) Zero Tolerance - If a Politician breaches the Public Trust, their oath of office, or otherwise betrays the moral, ethical and/or legal beliefs of their constituency, the constituencies support for them should end, period.

    Before I say more, I wish to thank all of you TEA Partiers that posted on or discussed this issue with me. I appreciate your thoughtful, reasoned dialogue. It is so much more pleasant and constructive to discuss the issues fully and freely without it degenerating into personal attacks. To the extent possible, I am going to make my arguments in in favor of Zero Tolerance without attacking the other perspectives. Let whatever position that prevails, prevail upon its own merits. This, as opposed to the dismantling of its competitors, as a show of contempt for the intellectual dishonesty that has become political tradition in America these days.

    With that back drop, I am for Zero Tolerance. I do not arrive at this position with religious considerations. I come to it from a practical perspective. My position evolves from the following beliefs, thoughts, arguments and premises:

  • Well we tried to kill it in the House but it didn’t happen. Some reublicans voted with teh dumocrats proving that the Republican party may be right of the liberal dems but not Conservative under any definition other than cultural conservatism.

    It should not pass the Senate but if it does-big time doo-doo. I think the states will have to do something soon.
    States have constitutions, governments and citizens to protect. If the states don’t take on the feds we may be in for a classic takeover by default. I am saying if the states don’t assert sovereignty and states rights
    then we the people will be hard pressed to come up with any short term solution. At least that is my governmental theory and opinion. Get ready for the neXt round-THE SENATE.

  • Don Mashak-Your concerns are my concerns. And your solution my solution.
    Time does not favor us. If we don’t act soon, the window of opportunity may be gone and our freedoms
    along with it. We must remember history but also understand it. Mr. Obama and whoever is behind him
    understands history ad is trying to repeat it. If we are complacent, we will lose.

    Actually you are stealing some of my thunder-that is exactly the line I intend to use. We have to be responsible and step up to the plate if we understand what is happening. The elderly get it because
    they saw it before-in papers, headlines and the outcome of a Nazi regime. As I explained to a young man today- it is the same soup with the ingredients in slightly different proportions and maybe a different spice
    but the outcome would be the same soup with a slightly different flavor.

    No question of fully developed we will be dealing with brown shirts, the SS, children turning int heir parents and all that happened in nazi Germany. Registering the guns, giving ”volunteer” service to the State and
    many more things. YES-IT CAN HAPPEN HERE BECAUSE IT IS HAPPENING HERE! WE can’t be satisfied with watching or observing-we need to have a plan and get at it Now- not 2010. Obama is moving way to fast.
    Go to his website- he even spells out his goals of education, energy and health care. After the 4th we need
    to ramp up our plans and hit full throttle. Or we may be looking for our own Cinco de Mayo.

    LET OUR NEW SLOGAN BE-LET’S DO IT!!

  • Hello Mike Holoka:

    It has been said by men greater than I: ”They who know not their history, are destined to repeat it.”

    i am especially concerned about the schools. They no longer teach the fundamental Constitution and Civics concepts in high school civics. Recently our MN Supreme Court had an event at the a local high school. I went their as a member of the MN Tenth Judicial District Free Press. I was threatened with arrest 3 times for demanding my first Amendment Freedom of the Press Rights be recognized. Only when i demanded to know the names of those refusing me admittance, was i finally let in.

    The point of all this is that it led to discussion of Civil Rights, the Bill of Rights and the way the Founding Father’s intended the constitution to work… When I got around to explaining the Citizens as the Sovereigns and the Politicians as the Supposed Servants, I was crucified.
    I was told i was a radical belonging to Anarchist groups like the Montana Freemen and the Posse Komatus. They said they got this information from their teachers. They refused to recognize that the Founding Fathers intended the Citizens to be the Sovereigns and, that as a result, the American form of government, came to be known as the great American experiment to the rest of the world. They are not teaching the new generations, our sovereign rights. The new generations are not being told they are empowered to act by the constitution.

    There is your American Parallel to the Nazi rewriting of History.

    There are so many parallels to your brief history of the rise of the Nazi’s that I am concerned that even we are acting too late to stop the tide.

    Perhaps the rallying cry of our Tea Party Movement Should be, ”If not me, who?; If not now; When?”

    Please keep fighting the good fight…

    Respectfully,

    Don Mashak

    May I suggest posting your article on NowPublic.com - We will win more converts a few brain cells(concepts) at a time there, than by preaching to the choir here?
